How to Install

TMAI for AutoCAD

Follow these steps to install the TMAI plugin for Autodesk AutoCAD on Windows.

Install the plugin

  1. Download TMAI. Go to the AutoCAD download section and download Tmai.Autodesk.Autocad.zip.

  2. Close AutoCAD and extract the download. Right-click the ZIP file and select Extract All. Find the TMAI folder whose name ends in .bundle. Inside it, you should find PackageContents.xml and a Contents folder.

  3. Open the Autodesk plugins folder.C:\Users\john\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ApplicationPluginsUse your windows username.

  4. Copy the complete bundle. Place the TMAI .bundle folder directly inside ApplicationPlugins, keeping all of its files and subfolders together. PackageContents.xml must sit directly inside the .bundle folder, without an extra ZIP extraction folder in between.

  5. Start AutoCAD. AutoCAD discovers the bundle when it starts.

  6. Launch TMAI. Open or create a drawing, then you will see in the Autocad ribbon menu a new entry called TMAI.

If the plugin does not load

  • Unknown command: check the bundle location and folder structure, then restart AutoCAD. Confirm that the package supports your installed AutoCAD release.

  • Automatic loading is disabled: check APPAUTOLOAD. A value of 0 disables automatic plugin loading. On a managed computer, ask your administrator to enable loading for TMAI.

  • Missing files or a loading error: extract the download again and confirm that you copied the entire bundle. If the problem continues, contact us with your AutoCAD version and the exact command-line error.
